Duke Health :

The Triangle

Produced at: SUSPECT

A series of medical informational videos for the Duke Health MyChart app in North Carolina.

As art director and senior animator, I was in charge of overseeing all animations, including building the scenes, animating transitions, graphic effects, and character animations.

The transitions feel pretty good.

The cabinets and desks in the office background were built out in After-Effects faux-3D to easily accentuate the rotation of the room.

The microscope transition was my favorite.

Lots of nice moments in this one. The sliding move of the faux-3D elderly woman is smooth and feels dimensional.

In order for the overall project to feel more dynamic, the transitions were an opportunity to make the piece more dynamic. My focus was on the transitions.

Representations of UI interactions.

The delayed snappiness of the calendar drag was a nice way of exaggerating the cause and effect of human-to-digital interaction.

The flipping animation of the calendar to the map is a simple one, but the angle of the houses being always upright to the camera adds a bit more depth and finesse to the overall transition. It may be too quick to notice, but no detail’s too small.
